2020 Helmet Laboratory Testing Results
The NFLPA test shows a list of helmets that can be recommended and that meet basic safety standards. The test also publishes (in the red table below) helmets that are PROHIBITED. These are mainly all Rawlings models and old Schutt Air Advantage models, which are no longer produced and appear only sporadically on the market. There is still a number of sellers who offer cheap prohibited helmets. The NFLPA also says that a helmet older than 10 years is automatically considered prohibited regardless of type and manufacturer. Helmets marked gray in the table are permitted, but are no longer manufactured.
